In the book "Surfing the Tsunami" by Todd Kelsey in chapter 4 the author mentions how we should learn more about AI tools. Overall, it's understandable that we all have busy lives, but we should try and learn something new that will benefit us. A good way to learn new skills is by building good habits. Everywhere we go we bring something with us which is our cell phone devices. Well, we can at least put it to good use.
It is hard to give up our phones and try to work on something without being distracted by our phones' notifications. A good way to start is downloading the Google Calendar if our phones don't already have it installed. Google Calendar is a good tool we can use to set reminders. These reminders can be set from anywhere that the Google Calendar app is installed. We can then get the reminder delivered straight to our phones, email, and computer screen.
A good way to explore new AI tools is by searching for "AI news" or "Learning AI" in places like New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BBC News, etc. This can be done before or after work when we have free time. This gives me a great idea of how to learn more about AI with a friendly reminder delivered to me daily, a few times a week, or even throughout the month. For myself, I already know what I am going to do for my 4-hour flight to New York this June, I will be setting a reminder on my phone using Google Calendar to remind me to read a few articles on the plane ride and build a habit where I can set goals and educate myself more on AI.
